100 Thieves Pick up Bjergsen and Doublelift

One of the most famous League of Legends teams in the world, 100 Thieves, has introduced its LCS 2023 roster including Bjergsen and Doublelift. According to the announcement, Closer has remained within the roster and the team added Tenacity and Busio to the main roster.

Brand new roster for a brand new season

100 Thieves packed up four new players before the 2021 season and they kept the majority of the lineup for two years. They didn’t have the best performance in LCS 2021 Spring but the organization managed to win the LCS 2021 Championship trophy and represented NA at Worlds 2021. The only change made was for the mid lane as Abbedagge joined the organization between two splits.

100 Thieves played two finals during the 2022 season and again made it to the Worlds scene. During the off-season, the team manager PapaSmithy parted ways with the organization as both parties had different visions for the upcoming season. Moreover, 100 Thieves let four players go, only keeping the Turkish superstar jungler Closer. Ssumday, Abbedagge, FBI, huhi, and the coaches Reapered and Freeze have left the organization.

100 Thieves announced its new roster for the LCS 2023 season featuring the legendary players Bjergsen and Doublelift. Bjergsen is a TSM legend as he spent multiple years there both as a player and as a coach. He then made his return to the competitive scene and signed with Team Liquid. He will be the new mid laner of 100 Thieves in the upcoming season. Secondly, Doublelift has made his return to the LoL esports scene after a year.

Throughout his career, he played for CLG, Team Curse, TSM, and Team Liquid and he was one of the best LoL players in the region. After retiring from professional play, he focused on content creation. At first, he was a streamer under the TSM brand but for the last year, he has been streaming on his own.

Bjergsen and Doublelift played together at Worlds 2020. After that, both of them retired but Bjergsen chose to be a head coach while Doublelift became a streamer.

Bjergsen and Doublelift Reunite

Apart from Bjergsen and Doublelift, Tenacity and Busio have been promoted to the main roster. Both players competed for 100 Thieves Academy last year and proved their worth to the community. They will cover the top and support, two of the most important LoL roles on the lineup. Lastly, the superstar jungler Closer will remain with the organization. He is the only one to stick with the team from last year.

100T started announcing its new season roster a while ago by revealing the coaching staff. As mentioned, the head coach Reapered and his assistant Freeze have left the team. Kaas and Nukeduck will fill their spots in the LCS 2023 season. Kaas was the assistant coach of MAD Lions in LEC, working together with the head coach Mac. Nukeduck on the other hand was a professional player until last year. He played for EXCEL and retired to become Kaas’ assistant. Apart from them, JungleJuice has become the new general manager of the team.

The organization’s co-owners include names like Drake, Scott Samuel Brown, Dan Gilbert, and the founder Nadeshot. 100 Thieves is one of the most famous esports teams in the world and their new League of Legends roster looks stacked with young bloods and experienced players. We will see how they will perform in the upcoming season.
