Ramattra is the latest Hero to get added to Overwatch. The first since Kiriko’s release, it’s the first in Blizzard’s new Battle Pass system for getting characters, being put to the test for established players.
How to unlock Ramattra is a bit trickier than you’ll see with older Heroes, players now have to grind a decent way up the Battle Pass to unlock the character. Although, Blizzard is also currently giving away a free Overwatch Twitch drop for the character if you’re willing to grind a little bit.
Not everyone is happy with the Battle Pass grind. More are annoyed by putting an XP wall over a supposedly free skin. This is what’s happened with Ramattra getting released, and the free skin.
How to Unlock Ramattra
Ramattra is the latest Hero to get added to Overwatch 2. He’s a new Tank Hero and is available for free eventually. You can unlock Rammatra pretty easily. All you have to do is get to Level 45 in the Battle Pass or purchase it to unlock her at the beginning of the season. Most players who are playing regularly will unlock them at some point. However, you might have to grind for a little while before you manage to get access to them.
There have been a few changes to make the hero easier to unlock. The amount of XP required to unlock the new hero has been reduced. They’ve also aimed to make the weekly challenges simpler. This should make it a bit easier for players to grind their way up.
Twitch Drop Locked Behind Pay Wall
Twitch drops are back for Season 2 of Overwatch. This time, it’s a pretty decent prize they’re giving away. An entire Legendary tier skin. This type is normally one that costs a significant amount in the store, so players are pleased to have a shot at getting it for free just from watching Twitch. Although, there is a bit of a catch.
The new skin is only going to be available for a limited time, and you’ll have to climb up the ranks in the Season 2 Battle Pass quite a bit to get there. Players have to link their Battle.Net Account and watch enough of an eligible Overwatch streamer. This is one of the later rewards, so you’ll have to watch for over six hours to get to the skin.
Before you can unlock it at all, you’ll need to reach the level where you can play the character. That is level 45. This essentially means that you have two choices. You can pay for the Battle Pass to get Ramattra quicker, or you’ll to try have and level up to 45 in the Battle Pass in the limited amount of time you have. Then manage to get the Overwatch 2 Twitch drop immediately after before this drop stops running.
It’s a bit of a rough grind if you really want to get everything possible for free. It might mean a lot of players can’t really use the Twitch drops even though the skin is technically free. The Twitch drops are going to be running through to December 20th. You can unlock both Ramattra and the Legendary Skin now.
Although, we’ll have to wait a little while to see how they fare in Competitive, and in the Overwatch League once it returns for the 2023 season.
