Liiv SANDBOX upsets T1 in 2-0 win

LSB is definitely one of the most exciting teams to watch, not only in the LCK, but in the whole League of Legends competitive circuit. They went from being one of the absolute worst teams in Korea, winning only 4 out of 18 series last split, to being a real threat to the very best teams in the LCK. They are currently sitting on a 12-5 record and already secured 3rd place.

They have surpassed the likes of Damwon and DRX in the standings, beating both of them in the regular season. It’s still uncertain if LSB is capable of consistently beating either T1 or Gen.G, but there is a realistic scenario where this team gets to the playoffs finals.

Now looking at what happened in the match between T1 and Liiv SANDBOX, it’s safe to say that not a lot of people expected this result. Not only did SANDBOX rise up to the occasion and battle T1 on equal footing, but they were also able to register a highly dominant 2-0 upset.

Just like in most of the LSB games, Prince and Clozer showcased their exceptional gameplay skills and helped their team win crucial teamfights. In the first match, SANDBOX secured all of the jungle objectives, allowing the team to gain a significant gold lead over T1.

Prince’s Sivir and Clozer’s Ahri remained unkillable, producing 7/0/7 and 5/0/9 KDAs, respectively. Kael’s Nautilus landed a crucial hook on T1 Gumayusi’s Zeri in the 29th minute, which allowed his team to collapse onto the enemy AD carry and then go on to end the match.

Prince has been an absolute machine this split, becoming one of the most important pieces of his team. Sure, more often than not he is constantly receiving a hefty amount of resources, but it’s undeniable just how consistent this ADC is when it comes to putting up a great performance in the most important moments.

To make things more interesting, LSB made the second game a more intense one, but also a shorter one. Both teams engaged in back-and-forth skirmishes but it was SANDBOX who gained more of an advantage since they were able to get more kills and secure map objectives.

Prince was playing brilliantly on his Aphelios. His team helped him secure early-game kills and he was also able to get the entire plating on T1’s bottom turret. With this gold lead, he completed his build quickly and popped off. By the time SANDBOX won the second game, Prince was sitting on an impressive 14/0/3 KDA.

We have to give credit where it’s due and say that the entire SANDBOX team was playing cohesively, but on the other side, T1 looked out of form. There were many questionable plays from both Zeus and Faker. The poor performance from this duo was a key reason why T1 lost the series today. T1 are still in second place this split with a 14-3 record.
