The League of Legends 2022 World Championship is an incredible time for League fans and the esports community as a whole since they get to see their favorite squads and players fighting for the coveted Summoner’s Cup and the bragging rights of being a world champion. Since the organizations have to manage incredible mental resilience and consistency throughout the year, Worlds is absolutely full with talented and mechanically skilled players looking to prove that they are truly worthy of the spot and a chance at the title.
Youngsters and rookies usually have the biggest hunger to show their talent during the event, not only to justify their current spot on a team but also to secure a juicy contract for the upcoming split. Even though their gameplay may be a bit rough around the edges to be up to the standards of Worlds title challengers, youngsters regularly have a different approach to the game that can counter the current meta and result in never before seen strategies shown in the biggest stage.

This year’s Worlds tournament is filled with talented rookies and debutants who will stop against nobody to try and take the newly renewed Summoner’s Cup. Here’s our first list of all the rookies and Worlds debutants who have the skill ceiling to turn the scales in their favor in such an event like Worlds.
Muhammed Hasan “Kaori” Şentürk is a professional player native from Turkey. He recently signed a contract with Evil Geniuses’ academy team and is currently filling in for EG’s bot laner Danny, at least for a section of the tournament. All fans will be looking at this youngster to see if he can fill up the shoes in Danny’s absence. Even if he stumbles a bit, he’s shown promise with his performance in the NA LCS piloting Lucian, currently still undefeated on that champion.
Kim “Berserker” Min-cheol came in with a vengeance after joining Cloud 9 earlier in 2022 to substitute Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen, who later switched from a bot laner role to support. Under the veterinacy of Zven, Berserker has easily fitted to Cloud 9’s play book and showed why he was playing under T1’s brand for a long time. If Cloud 9 are going to see some success at Worlds 2022, Berserker will be the catalyst. With a win rate of 75% in the NA LCS, and over 80% win rate on aggressive champions like Zeri and Kalista. If given a small lead Berserker can easily take over.
After signing with Rogue in December 2021, Kim “Malrang” Geun-seong has had two really good splits with the organization after his short stint with DWG KIA in the LCK. Two splits in the top of the LEC, and Malarang has already demolished the competition and won his first title. Not only did Malrang showed that his time with DWG KIA guided him to battle and almos demolish LEC juggernauts like G2 and Fnatic, but we’ve also seen his mental fortitude to come back from behind.
