The last couple of pieces of the 2023 VALORANT squads for the debut season of the Americas league, an effort by Riot Games to provide a well rounded ecosystem for their tactical shooter.
One of the well known teams through VALORANT over the last two years is looking to refresh their lineup, as Sentinels continues to create a championship winning squad with two reigning world champion signings in Gustavo “Sacy” Rossi and Bryan “pANcada” Luna from Brazilian based team LOUD, as first reported by Dot Esports.
Both Sacy and pANcada will look to join Sentinels after an incredible 2022 competitive run with LOUD. The Brazilian representatives demolished their region all season in the Challengers regional event, then reached the finals of Masters Reykjavík, and at last closed out the season with a championship over rivals OpTic in the final of Champions 2022.
Nevertheless, even after winning the highest honor in VALORANT, the LOUD squad would not remain the same as before. Outside of Sacy and pANcada’s move,, the team and organization also cut ties with coach Matheus “bzkA” Tarasconi. The remaining 3 players in the lineup, Erick “aspas” Santos, Matias “saadhak” Delipetro, and Felipe “Less” de Loyola, will reportedly still remain within the organization.
Both Sacy and pANcada will join a Sentinels roster that’s almost complete thankfully for fans. They will be playing beside Tyson “TenZ” Ngo, as well as the recently signed young prodigy Zachary “zekken” Patrone, under the experienced tutelage of head coach Don “SyykoNT” Muir.
Going into our second team of the day, Spanish based organization KOI is set to sign ex Guild player Nikita “trexx” Cherednichenko to complete its VCT roster for 2023, according to reports by independent journalist Lembo.
With the Russian native player on the squad, KOI is set to place trexx, Jose Luis “koldamenta” Aranguren, Patryk “starxo” Kopczynski, ex M3C player Bogdan “Sheydos” Naumov, Berkant “Wolfen” Joshkun, and André “BARBARR” Möller at the helm as head coach.
The dynamic duo of BARBARR and koldamenta, will likely be the face of the brand and the roster. Spanish player Oscar “Mixwell” Cañellas, who was previously rumored to sign with KOI before the offseason, prefered a move to Team Heretics. A verbal agreement has been set between the two, according to rumors via social media.
BARBARR and koldamenta have previously played with trexx at the start of 2022 at Guild. Before the move, trexx joined OG with a playing stint of 3 months. Trexx was later released by Guild around September after Guild sadly failed to qualify through the EMEA LCQ for Champions. Guild was defeated by trexx’ former team OG in the second round of the lower bracket back in August.
KOI is set to finish in the EMEA international league, which will begin in 2023. Nevertheless KOI is first set to face off against all 29 other partnered teams in a debut tournament, which will take place in São Paulo, Brazil.
