Escape from Tarkov Wipe Confirmed, Full Patch Notes Revealed

Battlestate Games has confirmed that the Escape from Tarkov wipe (0.13 patch) will deploy today, December 28th. This ushers in an all-new age of Tarkov, bringing players the first new map in over a year and countless updates to the platform. With the delivery of the patch notes, Battlestate revealed everything coming as part of the Escape from Tarkov wipe, and it’s already stoking the excitement buzzing within the wider community.

At the heart of the 0.13 patch sits Streets of Tarkov, a long-awaited and highly anticipated urban environment which makes up one of the densest maps ever created for Escape from Tarkov. This map was teased years ago, and fans are understandably sitting on the edges of their seats while they wait for it to drop. There are all-new weapons, updates, skills, and features coming with this Escape from Tarkov wipe, and it’ll drop in just a few hours (at the time of writing this piece).

It has been almost six months to the day that Tarkov last wiped, which is par for the course where the platform is concerned. For those not in the know, a ‘wipe’ in Tarkov is essentially a server reset – it’s when all players have their accounts wiped, meaning that they lose all their progress and loot secured up until that point. It’s a balancing mechanic that puts everyone on the same level for a short period of time, ensuring no one player can become immeasurably powerful.

For the last two or three weeks, pre-wipe events have been coming thick and fast to the platform. This is a typical process for Battlestate Games, rewarding players with bizarre, zany, and entertaining events as the wipe wraps up. As this is one of the most popular and gruelling games on the market right now, it makes for a welcome release from the sheer intensity that’s present all throughout the ‘season’.

Battlestate Games confirmed that the deployment of the 0.13 patch would begin at 06:30 GMT and would last six hours. However, if there’s one thing that’s almost traditional with Escape from Tarkov, it’s the extension of the wipe deployment. There are expectations that the servers will be back online – with all the new content – by around 14:00 GMT.

In the full patch notes for the 0.13 patch, it was revealed that quite a lot of work has been done on the game. There’s a massive stack of bug and problem fixes, updates to the game’s base mechanics, and balancing coming to the platform. Battlestate has taken a look at the graphics, audio, physics, and voice work for the game, with the Head of the Studio, Nikita Buyanov, confirming that more work has been done for this wipe than ever before.

Here are the key components being delivered with the 0.13 patch:

  • Streets of Tarkov, the all-new, super-urban map.

It’s a considerable update, and fans are understandably very excited for it to drop. It’ll be six months or so until the next wipe, so it’s advisable to enjoy this one while it lasts. It’s highly likely that, with the next wipe, we’ll see the Escape from Tarkov Arena platform arrive.
