Epic Games and Mediatonic have unveiled their latest crossover for Fall Guys, bringing one of the top fighting games to the series. Street Guys x Fall Guys is hitting the game. Players are going to get access to some of the most iconic world warriors from Street Fighter, but as Fall Guys outfits.
The title joins a quite wide roster of collaborations as the newest game to crossover with the party Battle Royale.
Street Fighter X Fall Guys
Fall Guys is no stranger to crossovers. Similar to Epic’s other major free-to-play game, Fortnite, the title frequently gets cosmetics that bring in unique designs and characters from other franchises. Things are a bit different for Fall Guys though. Rather than just getting a model of the character like with Fortnite, Fall Guys skins have to fit the unique bean characters of the game. These design constraints can lead to some fun versions of gaming’s biggest characters when they show up.
Street Fighter’s gearing up for the release of a brand-new game, Street Fighter 6. Although, it doesn’t seem like this crossover is specifically connected to release. This is more just a fun crossover. We’re getting quite a few skins, with some different picks from past Street Fighter collabs.
These are the characters that are getting dedicated skins
- Ryu
- Cammy
- Akuma
Ryu is a natural pick as he’s probably the most recognisable character from Street Fighter. Cammy is a more unorthodox selection. Although, while she’s not suitable for most games at Fall Guy’s age rating, being mapped onto an inhuman bean makes it a bit easier to include her!
Alongside the skins themselves, there are a few extra cosmetics too. Players can get nameplates that mark than out as Street Fighter fans, and a Hadouken and Shoryuken emote. While fan favourites like Chun-Li might be missing, this is a pretty good representation of Street Fighter. They’ll be on sale from today (November 29th).
Fall Guys Sunken Secrets
Street Fighter X Fall Guys is the latest crossover to be unveiled, but it’s definitely not the only one this season. The Sunken Secrets season includes some more cool cosmetics in the Fall Guys Battle pass. Players can get SpongeBob SquarePants-inspired looks alongside other cool unlockables.
Fall Guys has really flourished in recent seasons. While its initial hype might have been impressive, since going free-to-play its grown a fresh staying power. The best Fall Guys players even compete in semi-regular Fall Guys esports events.
Sometimes even more than Fortnite, it feels like the perfect vehicle for crossovers. The bean characters are simple enough that crossover skins are distinctive while feeling unique to Fall Guys. This is definitely not going to be the last Street Fighter crossover as we head towards the biggest release in the series to date, so keep an eye out to see where else Ryu pops up.
If you’re looking to show off your fighting games credentials across Battle Royales, these skins are going to be a must.
