The VCT 2022 Game Changers Championship is right around the corner. It is going to be the first women-only championship in the history of Valorant esports. Many teams have already secured their place in the tournament, such as G2 Gozen and Cloud9 White, the EMEA and NA heavyweights.
On October 22, we will be able to see the two powerhouses, KRÜ Fem and FiRePOWER, fight for their place in the Game Changers Championship during the VCT 2022 Game Changers Latin America Regional Final. This event will be a single best-of-five match between the two rosters. The winner of the event gets one of the two final spots for the championship.
If we talk about the teams, both KRÜ Fem and FiRePOWER have had quite a successful season. While KRÜ has had a consistent roster since January 17, FiRePOWER has had some roster changes but has maintained its core lineup.
FiRePOWER qualified for the regional finals after taking first place in the LATAM North finals. The team had a clean run for the crown, winning every match without losing a map, with the only exception being the first match against Aternun Venus, which they lost to FiRePOWER. During the top final they managed to beat Skull Cracker Fem by 2:0 in a BO3 and doubled up again during the grand final, where they beat them again by 3:0 in a BO5 scenario. It’s safe to say that we can expect nothing less from them during the LATAM Regional Final.
On the other hand, KRÜ Fem had a bumpier ride during the LATAM South Finals, where they lost a map during two matches in the Superior Final and the Grand Final, but still managed to maintain perfect composure and confidence.
During the Superior Final match against NOORG, they started strong but lost control during the second game in Haven, which cost them the map. Still, they managed to win and qualify for the Grand Final. 9z Team Fem won the first map of the final, but it wasn’t enough to discourage KRÜ Fem. After the initial defeat on the first map, they went all out and quickly finished the final with a 3:1 score.
The interesting thing about KRÜ Fem is that it is part of KRÜ Esports, which competed in the Valorant Champions and finished the season as the number 2 team in the LATAM region. KRÜ Esports is also one of the teams that earned a partnership with Riot Games, and is included in the final list of VCT 2023 teams. So while FiRePOWER is certainly a roster not to be taken lightly, KRÜ Fem has some big shoes to fill and an additional reason to win this regional final.
Both teams are in top form and deserving of the title, but since there can only be one winner, we’ll have to wait and see who is more determined to become the Game Changers champion. With all this in mind, the Latin American Regional Final is sure to be an interesting and entertaining event. If you are interested in VALORANT betting, make sure to check out our page where we have a big amount of offers and sign-up deals readily available for you!
